5.6/10
I had a mixed experience at Capital Hill Hotel & Suites. The location was fantastic, making it easy to explore Ottawa, but several issues with my room and the service dampened my stay. I appreciated the cleanliness of the suite, but the odour and the unfulfilled kitchenette reservation were significant drawbacks.
Rooms
6.0
The suite was clean, but I was disappointed when I discovered that my reservation for a kitchenette was not honored. Plus, the sofabed had a strong odor, which was unpleasant. The layout was also inconvenient as the queen bed was pushed against the closet, making it hard to hang clothes.
Service
5.0
While most staff were professional, some were unhelpful. I had a frustrating interaction with the front desk, particularly during check-out when I asked for assistance with a taxi. They seemed uninterested in providing friendly service, which was disappointing.
Location
8.0
The location is undoubtedly a highlight. It’s within walking distance of Parliament and several restaurants and shops, which made exploring the city super convenient. I enjoyed the proximity to local attractions like Byward Market.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, there was no breakfast included with my stay, which I found surprising for the price. I had to find my own dining options, but I did discover several nearby restaurants, like Nando’s, that were quite satisfying.
Facilities
5.0
The overall facilities seemed a bit outdated and there were some issues, like the vending machine for water not working. I also found the Wi-Fi to be unreliable, which made it difficult to stay connected during my trip.

I had a great stay at Capital Hill Hotel & Suites. The location was perfect for exploring Ottawa, being just blocks from Parliament and other attractions. While the room was clean and well-maintained, it was a bit noisy as it was close to the elevators. Overall, it was a solid choice for my trip.
Rooms
7.0
My room was clean, but too close to the elevators which made it noisy. The view was not great, looking at another building.
Service
8.0
The staff were friendly and helpful. They did a great job accommodating my needs.

The hotel's location was fantastic, right in downtown Ottawa. I could easily walk to Parliament and nearby attractions.
Dining

While I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, I did find a fantastic place, Nando's, nearby. It was great to have meals within walking distance.
Facilities

The hotel had a laundry facility, which was a bonus. However, I didn't appreciate having to pay extra for breakfast.

5.0/10
I had a wonderful stay at the Capital Hill Hotel & Suites, especially appreciating its prime downtown location near Parliament Hill and other attractions (I could walk everywhere!). My room was spacious and well-equipped, making it comfortable, though I did notice the hotel could use some renovation (it has an older feel). Overall, I found the value for what I received to be excellent, particularly for the amenities offered.
Rooms
8.0
My room felt more like a suite, with two huge beds and a kitchenette (very convenient!). It was clean and had a lovely decor, although I noticed it might need some updates. I had no view, which was a slight drawback, yet the space made up for it.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and courteous, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. However, there were some hiccups with cleaning—my room was skipped once, and there were delays on another occasion (nothing too major, but noticeable).
Location
10.0
The location is unbeatable—just a 2-minute walk from Parliament Hill and near many restaurants (I loved grabbing coffee from Tim Horton’s). It was perfect for exploring the city on foot, which I enjoyed a lot.
Dining
9.0
Breakfast at the Biblioteque Cafe was delicious and plentiful, with friendly service from the staff (they made my mornings brighter!). The selection was good for what I needed.
Facilities
7.0
I appreciated having a kitchenette in my room, which was well stocked for meal prep. The facilities were generally fine, but I felt some areas could use an upgrade to match the rest of the experience.

Overall, my stay at Capital Hill Hotel & Suites had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, just a few blocks from Parliament and other attractions. but my room experience was a mixed bag. While it was clean and comfortable, the noise levels at night were disruptive, which detracted from my enjoyment.
Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and had ample space, but the sofa bed had a strong odor and the overall decor felt a bit dated. I would have preferred a smaller room if it meant better upkeep.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally accommodating and quick to respond to requests, though I did feel that they could have been more friendly, especially during check-out.
Location
9.0
The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Ottawa, making it easy to walk to major attractions like the Byward Market and Parliament Hill, which I really appreciated.
Dining
5.0
I didn't dine at the hotel; it would have been nice to have a restaurant option nearby for convenience, as I found myself going out for meals.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were clean and well-maintained, though some amenities like the vending machine weren't functioning properly during my stay.

My stay at Capital Hill Hotel & Suites was a mixed bag. I appreciated the clean room and the convenient location near Parliament Hill, making it easy to explore the city. However, my experience was dampened by some issues with service and amenities, particularly regarding the missing kitchenette I had booked.
Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and had a good size, with two queen beds. However, the furniture seemed outdated and needed a makeover. The smell in the room and particularly the sofabed was really off-putting.
Service
5.0
Service was adequate but not really good. While some staff, like the receptionist Yasir, were professional, others didn't seem to care much about customer satisfaction. It was frustrating to deal with the unfriendly front desk regarding my booking issues.
Location
8.0
The location was fantastic! Being close to Parliament Hill made it easy for me to visit major attractions and find dining options within walking distance.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown, and I ended up having to go elsewhere, which took extra time. There was no option available at the hotel that was convenient or satisfying.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel had some facilities, my room lacked basic kitchen utensils, which I had expected. Plus, the Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the vending machine for water was out of order.
